POD Travels

Back in 2015 we launched a stand alone travel blog – POD Travels. While UK travel and days out continue to feature here on PODcast, we wanted a blog that was 100% focused on our overseas adventures and family travel.

Myself and my husband have worked in the travel industry for many years, both directly and indirectly across all market categories. Both of us are well travelled too having explored the world much of our lives. My husband Jonathan spent his childhood holidaying across Europe, with his RAF Wing Commander Dad stationed on various Air Force bases in Germany. His wanderlust came to a head when he went travelling across South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Having already travelled in Europe, I lived and worked in Australia for two years – coincidently at the same time my husband was there although our paths never crossed!

As a couple we’ve travelled far and wide with exploits in Africa, Australasia and the Pacific, the Caribbean, North America and South America. The most memorable trips before POD arrived are probably Trekking the Tongariro Crossing and sleeping in the Venezuelan jungle on a quest to discover Angel Falls. Of course we’ve travelled extensively across Europe for sun, ski and city breaks too. Our six year old daughter ‘POD’ loves to travel just as much as we do so our exploits are still very much based on discovery, adventure and exploration.

Do check out our recent trip to Lanzarote with James Villa Holidays (which features a short film) along with dolphin spotting in the Bay of Biscay, the Picos de Europa and the medieval town of Potes. You will find POD Travels here.
