Alphabet Project | X is for x-ray

October 22, 2014

Thank you to everyone that joined the Alphabet Photography Project over the past week with letter W. Hard to believe we’ve almost reached the end – until the next one anyway!

Well letter X is a tricky one. Although attempts were made to be a little more creative, I settled on a fuzzy x-ray. This is my left wrist which is home to some rather impressive metalwork. The plate arrived when I broke the radius and ulna bones in 2011, POD wasn’t even a year old. This x-ray was taken after a second operation last year.

What you see before you was the result of a procedure called Sauve Kapanji. It involved stabilising the wrist joint with pins, creating a new one by breaking my arm below the wrist and removing a 6mm portion of bone. It’s all very clever and you’d never know today it’s any different, I guess that’s what makes this x-ray a little bit special.

How to join in

The Alphabet Photography Project runs every Wednesday. A Linky is live from that day until the following Tuesday so you can upload a short post or an Instagram photo. If you include a link back to PODcast I’m happy to share it for you.

You can post a photo on Instagram (PODcast is here) using the hashtag #alphabetphoto. There are PinterestFacebook and Google+ groups too.

Ideas for letter X

The #alphabetphoto theme can be interpreted in any way you choose. Your letter might be a photograph for example, an object that resembles a letter or an adjective. Have a look at the letter X hints in last week’s post. If you get really stuck, an online Scrabble dictionary is a good point of reference!

Inspiration for letter Y

Here are a few ideas to get us thinking about letter Y.

Yak, yew, yum, yell, yank, yuca, yule, year, yoke, yawn, yukky, youth, young, yuck, yeast, yoghurt, yellow, yacht, yapping, yard, yanking, yoga, yawning, yourself, youthful, youngest, yours, yurts, yeah.
